Adam Laerkesen in 'Imagine' at Gippsland Art Gallery

Ultimo Project Studios' blog begins the year with Adam's participation in the exhibition, Imagine.  It is an inaugural exhibition for the new Gippsland Art Gallery curated by Simon Gregg.

 

The exhibition comprises 134 art works by 81 artists, both locally and abroad, covering a period of 5 centuries of creative expressions.

UP Studio artists Therese Kenyon and Sue Pedley are part of this show held at Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery   The exhibition explores the properties of water and how, through natural causes or otherwise, are learned to be controlled for their utilisation in human civilisation.   The artworks selected for exhibition explore these encounters through visual expression.  The works consist of past and current works by Therese Kenyon, Pam Debenham, Sue Pedley and Peter Read. This exhibition is coordinated by Therese Kenyon.

Nicole Ellis is in a group exhibition curated by Tony Oates.  It features artists repurpose used or found materials stripping them of their original identity through reassemble, or juxtapose them with other materials, and thereby assigning them new identity.

Other artists in this exhibition are Matt Arbuckle, Peter Atkins, Chris Carmody, Ewin Fabian, Robert Motherwell, Elizabeth Newman, and Trish Roan.

Anie Nheu : Remarking|Remaking

Anie is one of the 10 artists participating in the exhibition, Remarking|Remaking.  The exhibition, curated by Abdullah M. I. Syed and Dr. Li Wenmin, explores the theme of diaspora and its contribution to contemporary drawing in Australia.


Other participants are: Nicole Barakat, Denis Beaubois, Nick Brown, Muamer Cajic, Anie Nheu, Ana Pollak, Nusra Latif Qureshi, Marikit Santiago, Shay Tobin, Teo Treloar.

Barbara Licha is in SCULPTURE 2011

Barbara Licha is part of the curated sculpture group exhibition organised by the the Brenda May Gallery, an event which began since 1998 at Redfern when the gallery was operating as Access Contemporary Gallery.
