Congratulations to our UP Studios member, Mark Dubner for being amongst the 46 finalists for this year's Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. There were 675 entries.

Barbara Licha: Finalist at a New Zealand Small Sculpture Prize

Walker is Barbara's entry to New Zealand's Small Sculpture Art Prize. This event is held in conjunctin with Waiheke Island's Biennial Sculpture on the Gulf.
The exhibition is open until 21st of February at the Waiheke Community Gallery.

Thirty seven finalists have been selected from one hundred and twenty six entries for the inaugural Deakin University Small Scultpture Award.
The inaugural award and exhibition is sponsored by the School of Management and Marketing at Deakin University.
Finalists were chosen by a selection panel that included Jason Smith, Director Heide Museum of Modern Art and Robert Lindsay, Director McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park.

Barbara Licha - Finalist of Willoughby Sculpture Prize 09
Chaos and order, 2008 Galvanised wire, 60x60x60cm.In my sculpture I try to create the conditions of human experience where we are surrounded by constant expansion of information and a multitude of tasks. I use the wire line, almost suspended in space, to suggest human fragility, feeling of isolation and contemplation.
